Why can't SocialPilot post to Facebook groups?
This is a Facebook platform limitation, not a SocialPilot shortcoming. Any cloud tool that publishes to Facebook does so through Facebook's official Graph API. Historically that API had a publish_to_groups permission, but Facebook deprecated its Groups API in April 2024 (announced January 2024 with Graph API v19.0). Since then, no cloud service — SocialPilot, Buffer, Hootsuite, or anyone else — can auto-publish to Facebook groups through the API.
On top of that, even before the deprecation, cloud tools could only reach groups where you had admin or moderator rights. Groups where you're just a member were never reachable via the API. So there are two walls here, and SocialPilot sits behind both.
The only reliable way to post to a group you're a member of is from inside a real, logged-in Facebook session — which is exactly what a browser extension does. MultiGroupPoster runs in your own Chrome tab and posts as you, so it isn't affected by the Groups API deprecation.
What SocialPilot is genuinely great at
SocialPilot is a mature, well-regarded social-media management platform. It's a strong choice when your work looks like this:
- You publish to one or more Facebook Pages you own, and want a content calendar and scheduling queue.
- You also post to Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, or YouTube — SocialPilot covers many networks from one dashboard.
- You want analytics, PDF/white-label reports, and competitor tracking.
- You run a team or agency and need approval workflows, roles, and client access.
- You want AI-assisted captions and bulk CSV scheduling.
If that's your world, SocialPilot earns its price. It simply doesn't do the group-posting job — because Facebook won't let any cloud tool do it.
What MultiGroupPoster is built for
- You post the same offer or update into many Facebook groups you belong to — from 5 to 500+.
- You're a real estate agent, recruiter, e-commerce seller, coach, event organizer, or local business whose buyers hang out in niche communities.
- You want to post without hours of manual copy-pasting that risks your account.
- You want per-post text variety (Spintax) and rotating images (Image Sets) so every group sees something a little different.
- You want to schedule recurring campaigns (Once / Daily / Weekly / Monthly) and see per-group results.

When to pick which
Pick MultiGroupPoster if:
- You need to post into Facebook groups you're a member of — this is the one job SocialPilot can't do.
- You want Spintax variety and rotating Image Sets across many groups.
- You'd rather run inside your own session than route through a cloud server.
- You want a genuine free tier to test the workflow before paying.
Pick SocialPilot if:
- Your audience is on Facebook Pages and other networks, not in member groups.
- You want a full content calendar, analytics, and reporting in one dashboard.
- You manage clients or a team and need approval workflows and roles.
- You publish across many networks and want a single scheduling hub.
Can I use both?
Yes — and it's a common setup. The two tools cover different parts of the funnel and never conflict:
- SocialPilot for top-of-funnel brand presence on your Pages, plus Instagram, LinkedIn, and X scheduling.
- MultiGroupPoster for community distribution into the niche groups where buyers actually spend time.
If your only reason for considering SocialPilot was to reach Facebook groups, that reason no longer holds after the 2024 API change — MultiGroupPoster is the tool built for exactly that.
