Step 1: find out whether it is your account or the tool
Every group poster, ours included, posts as you. So the first test costs one minute: open a group you belong to and post something by hand.
- The manual post fails too, often with “This feature isn’t available right now” or “You can’t post right now”. Facebook has limited your account for a while. No tool can work around that, and trying harder makes it longer. Stop for a day or two, then restart with fewer groups, longer pauses and different wording per group. Our guide to being blocked from posting in Facebook groups covers how long these limits last.
- The manual post works, but the tool fails in every group. The tool is the likely cause. Go to step 2.
- The tool works in most groups and fails in a few. Those groups are the cause. Go to step 4.
Step 2: check how your tool reaches Facebook
How a tool posts decides what can break it. There are four kinds, and each one fails differently.
| How the tool posts | Examples | What stops it | Can it be fixed? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official API from a cloud server | Buffer, Hootsuite, Post Planner, JERA | Meta removed group posting on 22 April 2024 | No, for groups. Pages still work |
| Your Facebook cookies on a server | FS Poster’s cookie method | The copied session expires or Facebook checks it | Sometimes, by adding the session again |
| A website you log in to with Facebook | FewFeed | The site moves, goes offline or loses its login | Only by the site’s operator |
| A browser extension in your own session | MultiGroupPoster, Group Posting Pro, PilotPoster, NinjaPoster | A Facebook update to the pages it uses | Yes, by an extension update |
If your tool is in the first row, nothing on your side will bring groups back. What the Groups API removal changed has the dates and the reasons. For the second and third rows, the session or the site is outside your control. For the fourth, the fix is an update, and the next step shows how to tell whether one is coming.
Step 3: if it is an extension, check its last update
Facebook changes its pages and its internal requests often. An extension that fills in the post box can break when the box changes; one that sends Facebook’s own internal requests can break when their format changes. Both kinds need maintenance, so the question is how quickly the developer ships a fix.
The Chrome Web Store shows it on every listing, under “Updated”. On 18 October 2026 the group posters we follow showed:
| Extension | Rating | Users | Last updated |
|---|---|---|---|
| Group Posting PRO | 4.3 (133 ratings) | 4,000 | 15 October 2026 |
| SimplePoster | 5.0 (8 ratings) | 416 | 15 October 2026 |
| PilotPoster | 4.5 (6 ratings) | 582 | 13 June 2026 |
| SafePoster | 2.6 | 122 | 8 April 2026 |
| NinjaPoster | 2.6 (23 ratings) | 561 | 4 March 2026 |
A listing that has not changed in months is not proof of a broken tool, but if it stopped working after a Facebook change and the date has not moved, a fix has not shipped yet. Two things help in the meantime:
- Update or reload the extension. Chrome updates extensions on its own schedule. On the
chrome://extensionspage, turn on Developer mode and press Update, then reload your Facebook tab. - Switch posting method if the tool has two. Group Posting PRO has an API Speed Mode and a Classic mode; MultiGroupPoster has Fast and Safe. If a Facebook change breaks one, the other often still works while a fix ships.
Then rule out the boring causes: Chrome must stay open while a run is going, a computer that goes to sleep pauses it, and being logged in to a different Facebook profile in the same browser sends the post as that profile.
Step 4: read the result for each group
When a run succeeds in most groups and fails in a few, the groups are telling you something. The common reasons are:
- Admin approval. The post is waiting in the group’s queue, not lost. It appears after an admin approves it.
- Only admins can post, or posting is limited to certain days or to members who have been in the group for a while.
- You are not a member, or you are posting as a Page that has not joined the group. A Page must be a member in its own right.
- The group’s rules ban links or promotions, and Facebook or the admins remove the post.
- A link in the post is blocked by Facebook across the site, which fails the post in every group that contains it.
A tool that only says “done” cannot tell these apart. MultiGroupPoster shows each group as posted, pending approval or failed, with the reason Facebook gave, so you can drop a group that will never accept your posts instead of retrying it every day.
Tool by tool: what usually goes wrong
Group Posting Pro not working
Group Posting PRO is actively maintained: version 2.11.21 shipped on 15 October 2026. Its recent Chrome Web Store reviews describe the failures people hit. One review from 7 October 2026 reports a Classic mode error after two or three posts; another, from July 2026, reports that posts with a background colour stop working when Spintax is in the text. If one mode fails, try the other, and check whether a background colour or Spintax is involved. One more review, from 17 October 2026, reports a Facebook warning about automated behaviour, and no posting mode fixes that on its own: pacing and varied wording are what matter there. Our comparison with Group Posting Pro covers its plans and both modes.
FewFeed not working
FewFeed is a website, not an extension, and its address has moved more than once. On 26 September 2026 fewfeed.com showed a parked-domain page and v2.fewfeed.com no longer resolved, while sites titled “FewFeed V2” and “FewFeed V3” were live on other domains. Its own tool index marks two paid tools “NOT WORK”, and none of the sites names who runs them. If a FewFeed tool stops posting, there is no developer you can report it to. The FewFeed alternative guide maps what it did to what replaces it.
FS Poster not posting to groups
FS Poster is a WordPress plugin with two ways into Facebook. The app method uses Meta’s API and reaches Pages only. Groups need its cookie method, which its own documentation says “works 70% of the time”. In February 2024 a user on the WordPress.org forum reported that groups disappeared after an update, and later a Facebook warning after about ten posts by the cookie method. The FS Poster alternatives page has the details and prices.
NinjaPoster, PilotPoster and SafePoster
NinjaPoster’s listing was last updated on 4 March 2026 and SafePoster’s on 8 April 2026, both rated 2.6. Most of NinjaPoster’s recent written reviews are about being charged after cancelling rather than about posting. PilotPoster was updated on 13 June 2026 and rated 4.5 from 6 ratings. For each one, run steps 1 to 4 above before you decide; our comparisons with NinjaPoster, PilotPoster and SafePoster list what each costs.
When switching tools is the right fix
Switch when the tool is the cause and nobody is fixing it: it depends on the removed Groups API, its site is gone, or its listing has not been updated since posting broke. Do not switch to escape a limit on your account; the new tool posts as you too, and it will fail the same way.
If you do switch, choose a tool that runs in your own browser, shows a result per group, varies the wording per group and paces itself. The best Facebook group posting tools for 2026 compares the ones that post to groups today, with prices. Whatever you pick, start with a few groups, not your whole list. No tool can promise your account will never be limited; pacing and varied content are what lower the risk.
FAQ
Why did my Facebook group poster suddenly stop working?
Check four things in order. Post one message by hand: if Facebook refuses that too, the limit is on your account, not the tool. If the tool runs from a server or a website, it may depend on the Groups API Meta removed in April 2024 or on a session that expired. If it is an extension, check when its Chrome Web Store listing was last updated. Finally, read the per-group result: many failures are one group’s rules.
Is my Facebook account blocked if the poster fails for every group?
Not necessarily blocked, but when every group fails at once with a message such as “This feature isn’t available right now”, the cause is usually a temporary limit on your account rather than the tool. Stop posting for a day or two, post one message by hand to test, and restart with fewer groups and longer pauses.
Why does FS Poster no longer post to my Facebook groups?
FS Poster’s official app method reaches Pages only, because Meta removed group posting from its API in April 2024. For groups it needs its cookie method, which its own documentation says works 70% of the time. Accounts added before that change with the app method lost their groups.
Is FewFeed still working?
Its sites moved. On 26 September 2026 fewfeed.com showed a parked-domain page and v2.fewfeed.com no longer resolved, while sites titled FewFeed V2 and V3 were live on other domains. FewFeed’s own tool index marks two paid tools as not working.
Can switching tools fix a posting block?
No. If Facebook has limited your account, every tool will fail until the limit ends, because they all post as you. Switching helps only when the tool itself is the cause: it relies on a removed API, a dead site or an extension that has not been updated for Facebook’s latest changes.
